I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2007 where I went on to complete my Master’s in Counseling Degree in 2010. I am a Certified Trauma Therapist through the Intensive Trauma Therapy inc. located in Morgantown West Virginia. I have 10+ years of experience as an EMDR Therapist and I am an IFS informed therapist through Internal Family Systems Therapy Canada.
I integrate Catholic/Christian approaches to my work with client’s who desire the Divine Healer to be a part of their healing process. Trauma causes deep and lasting effects on the survivor’s thought processes, nervous system, and physical body. Behaviors and reactions of trauma survivors can be seemingly unpredictable, confusing, contradictory and lead to pathologizing diagnosis. In utilizing a combination of the proper techniques to treat trauma, addressing the effects it has on the nervous system, cognitive thought processes as well as the spiritual and physical implications of trauma, it is not only possible to heal from trauma but to thrive after surviving it.
I also believe as a counselor that it is important to be invested in my own human formation and healing so that I can bring my best self to each therapy session with my clients. I can only walk with my clients as far as I have gone myself and I’m committed to going the distance.
